Hier wird ein sehr solides Eröffnungsrepertoire für Weiß angeboten, welches allerdings nicht für Anfänger geeignet ist, das hier schon Einiges an Stellungsverständnis vorausgesetzt wird. Das Repertoire basiert auf den Zügen 1.d4, gefolgt von 2.c4. Wer sich etwas auskennt weiß, dass damit in jedem Fall sehr dynamische Stellungen aufs Brett kommen können. Allerdings hat Schwarz auch eine breite Auswahl an Eröffnungen zur Verfügungen, die Weiß kennen muss. Watson gibt hier aber gute Standardpläne und Ideen in die Hand, mit welchen man als Weißspieler auch in unbekannten Stellungen und Varinaten gute Ideen findet. Empfehlen kann ich dieses Buch auch 1.e4-Spielern, welche ohne großen Aufwand ein 1.d4-Repertoire in der Hinterhand haben möchten.
